DIPNJ’s Response to NJEDA’s Digital Divide RFI

Digital Inclusion Practitioners of New Jersey (DIPNJ) was extremely pleased to hear that considerations for
bridging the Digital Divide had been integrated into New Jersey’s restart and recovery plan. We are more than
excited to see that the state understands the urgency of the issue — particularly as it pertains to education.

While we understand and appreciate that the scope of NJEDA’s RFI entitled “Bridging the Digital Divide for
New Jersey’s Students” is relatively narrow by design (given time and capital constraints, and the uncertainty
caused by the COVID-19 pandemic) the DIPNJ membership believe that tackling the issue of digital inequity is
foundational to the success of students statewide — both during and after the era of COVID-19.
